How the process works

Design and guidance
Based on our conversation, I’ll create a design proposal, offering guidance on wording, layout, size, and wood choice. I’m here to help — not to overwhelm.

Design approval and deposit
Once you’re happy with the design proposal, a 50% deposit is taken to confirm the order and secure your place in my workshop schedule. This allows me to begin sourcing materials and creating your memorial with care. There’s no pressure to proceed until everything feels right.

Handcrafted with care
Your memorial is then carefully handcrafted in our workshop, using natural materials chosen for both beauty and durability.

Completion and final payment
When your memorial is complete and ready for delivery, the remaining balance is due. I’ll confirm everything clearly before delivery is arranged.

Delivery
Your memorial can be delivered directly to you, or to a nominated person or organisation such as a funeral director or burial site, depending on what works best for you.
Placement and installation
Cemeteries, churchyards, and natural burial grounds each have their own guidelines regarding memorial size, materials, and placement.
I’m very happy to check requirements with the burial site during the design stage, to ensure your memorial is created in line with their guidance wherever possible.
Please note that installation or placing the memorial into the ground is not something I’m involved in, and this will need to be arranged separately with the burial site or an appropriate professional.
I’ll always make sure you have the information you need so this stage feels clear and straightforward.
Materials and natural finishes
Graveside memorials can be created using:
Solid hardwoods such as oak or iroko
Each piece is lovingly handcrafted and finished with OSMO natural UV-protective oil to honour and protect the wood for years to come — this is always included in the price.
Engraved text, symbols, or simple motifs meaningful to you
Each piece is designed to sit quietly and respectfully within its surroundings — blending naturally rather than standing out harshly.
Pricing
Bespoke graveside memorials typically range from £700–£1,000, depending on size, wood choice, and level of detail.
I’ll always confirm pricing clearly before any work begins, so there are no surprises and no obligation.
And for orders over £500, you’ll also receive a complimentary care kit to help you look after your memorial as it becomes part of your family’s story.
Wooden memorial benches
Our handcrafted memorial benches can be engraved directly into the wood or fitted with an engraved metal plaque.
The final size and design will depend on the location where the bench will be placed.
Benches generally range between £700 – £1500, with the option to include engraved text, images, or 3D details.
There are no restrictions on the number of engravings — we simply advise on layout to ensure the design remains clear and beautifully balanced
